GEOTECHNICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING

We bring more than 40 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering and seismic risk assessment, utilizing state of the art software and digital tools, from site assessment and investigation to design, construction and monitoring of large hydropower and infrastructure projects ensuring fit for purpose and sustainable structures. We have extensive technical experience of concrete works, geotechnical engineering,
preparation and treatment of soil and rock foundations for large dams and appurtenant
structures including design, supervision and assessment of grout curtain and diaphragm wall
works in complex geological environments.
EDACS associates with local firms and takes advantage of local knowledge and manpower. Through these associations and partnerships, global expertise and technology is transferred to local partners, and projects are always conducted in accordance with local conditions and economic considerations. Whenever necessary, EDACS also partners with universities and specialized institutes for technical assistance to ensure the optimal project outcome.
Today, environmental considerations are integrated into the decision process of most construction projects in rural and conservational areas. It is, therefore, essential to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study. Design and Stability Analyses With expertise in materials’ evaluation testing, we can advise upon suitability of construction materials for safe and robust structures. We can provide design parameters for foundations and slopes stability analyses. As part of our geotechnical services, using the latest software, we can perform stability analyses of embankment dams, slopes and soil structures using finite element
method and limit equilibrium analyses.
Concrete and Construction Materials EDACS specialises in grout treatment and use of cement and other grouting materials. We provide specialized services for concrete cracks repairs and water-proofing design and supervision. We are able to offer full spectrum services for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of concrete
structures including dams, bridge piers, floor slabs and beams. Our NDT services cover quality control verification and recommendations for rectification of defects and reinstatement of structures’ integrity.
Seismic Risk Analysis With in-house Capability and through our associates, we provide seismic risk assessment based on tectonic setting, causative faults and earthquake data to determine Operational and
Design Basis Earthquake (OBE and MBE). In compliance with ICOLD-Bulletin 148-2016, we also develop and carry out spectral analysis to determine SEE level seismic risk criteria.
